Interesting, it doesn't say anything on their site about iphone except 'coming soon' but instead of "only at 3" it says "first at 3"... maybe there's another carrier coming?

I would think it is a fairly standard arrangement with exclusivity for a period of time, possibly with the option to renew/extend.

elistan is on a distinguished road
Thumbs down gonna be expensive

I got some information, but I'm not sure if its 100% correct, but it seems that getting the iphone will come with a very steep monthly service fee of around 300+ HK dollars.

If this is the case, its a very expensive phone considering that the contract is for 2 years.

Can anyone tell me why you'd bother? I have looked at one of these (a friend had one very early, couldnt use it of course!) and I just don't "get" what the fuss is all about. But then I don't have an ipod either so maybe it's all connected.....

As long as theres an unlimited dataplan bundled in there then its not too bad.

Yeh, sounds like more than 1 provider. "First at 3" clearly shows that there is/are other provider(s). But I am sure there will be at least three months gap.

unlimited data is over $400 per month. with high call minutes plan, and you pay only a little for phone. 500MB is less than $400, pay more for the device. $0.03 per kb for extra data

Try using a normal to phone to do anything but dial a number you have just entered. They suck.

Address books, texting, voicemail, the real basics are pretty crap across the board.

Now with smart phones there is web browsing, GPS, etc. No one wants a shitty unsupported minority browser, or the utter turd that is WAP. It allows people to, like Japan, access the Internet and contact friends, send photos, etc, without needing an expensive desktop or laptop computer.
