The correct HK Cantonese term is shown here.

Nice... someone points out the diff. between formal/informal, the everyday used term here.

Also, like the idea of enabling Chinese characters to be viewed on Geo posts (NOT that I can write or read many meself!); it'll allow those who CAN and willing... to type-scribble names & stuff to help newbies in some HK searches.

A dictionary of Cantonese hardware terms would be useful. I haven't had much luck with the standard Chinese names. If you ask for the purple alcohol, they will know what you're after. It's usually sold in reused beer bottles and should be available at just about any hardware.
