What do you do after work?

Ladies and gents, what time do you get off and what do you do after work?
I get off at 5pm and I'm usually home by 5:30 and then, TV or catch up with my friend to chat over a beer. Then Wellcome, then home, dinner and more TV and snooze at around 1am or 2am. Recently I felt that it's becoming too much of a routine and was wondering how does the rest of HK handling after work hours?

Well, that's already an improvement on my standard night, since yours includes beer.

Get home at 7. Recently replaced TV with the treadmill, since TV's not very productive. Besides, Nat Geo has already taught me all I need to know about lions, engineering projects in Dubai and air crashe investigations

Then, since I'm rattling around the apartment bored out of my skull, I usually devote some time to improving my culinary skills and/or working on my Mandarin.

But I hear you; the routine has a certain 'same shit different day' feel to it.

You sound like you work a short day ... sleep by 2am and you probably need 7+ hours of sleep meaning up after 9am and work by 10am. Leaving at 5pm means you do a 7-hour day that includes lunch. Are you for real?

Mon-Fri: I normally leave work around 6.30 / 7pm. Off to the gym in a taxi. There, I destroy myself in ways most people would find insane while people drink beer at the pubs outside. Home around 9.30 after showers. Make post workout dinner. 30 minute catch-up with my girl. Sex. Sleep around midnite. Exhausted. Up again at 6.30. New day, new problems and opportunities.

haha, I live in Nat Geo, Discovery Science and HBO triangle. It's amazing how those channels chew through the nite like a hot knife through water. Surely, there must be more to life than this

It's 9-5 job, up at 7:45 and outta door at 8:30 and at work at 9 am. Lunch 12:10-2:00. 8hr work day. Can't complain about the work hours, it's the after hours that bother me

Master > I've always admired people who find energy and willpower to workout after work. That's amazing. what do you do when you don't work out? Usually workouts are day on and day off, rite?

Home usually between 5 and 6, relax, shop, dinner, help daughter with homework, play with baby, play cards with family and friends, catch up on gossip, bed. Sometimes go out to a bar with my wife but not very often now. Philippine TV now available on NOW so that is monopolised most of the time by the rest of the family. A routine but a happy one.

Wait...you have Nat Geo AND Discovery? Oh man, if I had both channels, that would be a serious boost to my weeknight 'entertainment' schedule. But since I don't have both, I'll probably need to watch that repeated program about the dowry dramas leading up to a Maasai tribe wedding in Tanzania.

How many cows will be enough for the father? Will the would-be groom be able to beg, borrow or steal enough head of cattle to make a fair and equitable exchange for the village beauty? Will the two families agree in time for the wedding, or will it all fall apart at the seams?

Oh the suspense...

Family and baby.. Yeah, maybe those are what I'm missing. I've 2 cats but they pretty much entertain themselves. Not much input from them

I've got everything except sports channels.. First I laughed my ass off reading your post then, sadness took over because I actually watched that Maasai tribe wedding (don't ask me why) We might need to import some "life"
