BUDGET: under HK$1000 In Hong Kong
A tailor made suit can be made in Hollywood Plaza, Mongkok for about HK$700-800. However, it takes roughly 2 weeks to get it made (I believe they simply outsource it to mainland China which explains why it takes so long). They also have a number of ready-made suits for about HK$400-500 which is worth considering. Shenzhen
The best place to go is Luohu Commercial Centre, 5th Floor (Fabric Market), Shenzhen. Here a tailor-made suit costs (the cheapest quote I have been given) RMB520 (or usually 500-600RMB). This is for a 2 piece i.e. blazer + trousers.
If you bring a suit that you have already so that they can copy, it takes them 3 days to complete (if you inform them on Monday and leave them a copy, you can collect the suit on Wednesday). If you want them to take measurements from you, then it will take 1 week (because, you have to go there first, then return again for a draft fitting and then return once more to pick it up).
2 tailors that charge 500-600RMB are:
