If you ever need a computer lcd monitor I can recommend Viewsonic - the reason is their service is so good. They come to your home and offer a three year warranty. Excellent.
Then the bad news - JNC LCD TV and zero service. I mean zero.
This is a korean made product marketed by Jebsen through their Datum branch and sold through the usual outlets like Broadway. I bought my 30 inch unit in 2006 and in Feb this year the screen started to have a large dark circle on it. I emailed and fax'd their service centre in mid Feb and got no response. So I emailed and fax'd again a week later. No response. I tried their service line and found it 'on hold'. As expected the unit failed with no picture on April 24th. I contacted their service centre again by email and fax - no answer- so I contacted their head office by fax and got a phonecall back. We'll come on 29th April they said ($450 for the visit).
A side PC board is broken , overheated said the technician. he took the TV away. Despite repeated emails and faxs we have had no reply on when if ever we will see the TV again. So I sent the info to the Consumer Council. Watch this space.
It's now a month since they took the unit for repair (how long does it take to change a PCB or the courtesy of a reply fax , email or phonecall ?) We managed to get through to their service centre a week ago and the reply was 'he did not know what they were doing to the unit or where it was' even though I quoted the work sheet number.
So if you really want to have the same
'product non support and total lack of service pledge' go try JNC.
(JNC = Jebsen No Care)
Absolutely pathetic.
