Cyberport -- The Cover Up?

Found a slightly oldish article on David Webb's webb-site

http://www.webb-site.com/articles/cybersecrets.htm

Makes us wonder .. are we the only people paying rent in this place?

Did I (as a rent and tax payer) just subsidize the Israeli deputy PM's security ninjas who were out in force guarding the PM from the 7 odd people who work here?

Even though I lived in the area [victoria road] ages ago, I must admit that I have yet to visit Cyberport.
That is all about to change as my services are required in the area and I have found a rather quaint bus with the letter before the number which will trundle all the way from IFC to CP for a fiver.
So anyway KIA two important questions, concerning your little pond.
. Have the East End Brewery pubs opened?
. Are you up for a pint at one of them this evening say 1730?
anyone else lurking in the vicintiy is most welcome to come and swing a tankard or two.

I might be in Central this evening. Not figured out my schedule. The pub is open in Cyberport though, our doors are always open for you!

Great! at least there is one pub open down in the boondocks.
Will be there at the apponted time and will have a moment of silence till someone joins me or I get thrown out for creating a disturbance

Shh, you're in cyberport

Visited Shri in Cyberport yesterday, and for a moment I found myself speaking in whisper as if in Cathedral - yet I was in office lobby; just odd to be so quiet (and this in Hong Kong!)

Anyway, maybe if you're stressed out with pace of life on HK Island, this is the perfect place to go to unwind. (Not my choice I might add; I recommend hiking trails, Shek O and so on.)

I have just recovered from my tete a' tete with KIA on the 20th at an empty Brewhouse where they had some [unitntentionally] old Hong Kong Beer on tap [yeech]
Earlier in the day I had waltzed around an empty Park & Shop and had been spoilt for choice at the Panasonic showroom between a massage in their lounger or a foot massage. I manfully endured both to keep the troops moral up.
The manager at the Brewhouse was quite keen to throw open his place for the next exclusive GE do and I'm sure the Panasonic people who salivate at the new supply of bodies for their contraptions

with bells and whistles

Pokfulam beckons Cirque du Soleil

Five years after last wowing audiences, big top fans will be pleased to hear that Canada's most famous entertainers (with apologies to Bryan Adams) are to return to Hong Kong. Credited with revitalising a dying entertainment genre, Cirque du Soleil hopes to land in December.

Alas, its hoped-for venue on the Tamar site has apparently been set aside for the World Trade Organisation ministerial meeting. So yesterday's Canadian Chamber of Commerce lunch saw housing head Michael Suen Ming-yeung prevailed on to help.

However, salvation could lie with Pacific Century Premium Developments, which has an empty site at Residence Bel-Air and is keen to get visitor traffic through its Pokfulam ghost town. Competition is thought to lie in a rival site in rather more populated Hunghom, but at least Pacific Century has established its francophone credentials with massive advertising campaigns promoting itself as an alternative Riviera.
