True to a certain extent but then thats offset by lower taxes, Lower travel costs etc etc.

I took a $12000 hk a month cut to come here from London but I am still financially better off.

without a doubt...I think people forget that and try to convert the salary in to Sterling etc, which is why it may seem 'low'
