Total Immersion swim classes

Has anyone taken swimming courses in HK with Total Immersion? It looks like a globally-standardised program from the US, and for Asia they seem to be based in the Philipines.

I've been talking to them about their Freestyle course but they are proving somewhat inconsistent on detail and frustratingly less than competent when it comes to organisation.

Thanks.

total immersion as opposed to partial immersion swimming? doesn't one need to be totally immersed in the water for the mechanics of swimming to work?

I know someone that took the program last year and they had it in Tai Tam at HKIS. I believe the instructor was from the Philippines but had lived and been trained in the US. The same fellow also took classes in Japan and was very impressed with the program there.

Giles- was the person impressed with the instruction received in HK, or just Japan?

Thanks

total immersion

He told me he preferred the instruction in Japan but he enjoyed the program and the instructor in HK too He also did some sessions in the States but Japan was his favorite. He felt that the japanese instructor focused more on the whole swimming while the US and HK were paying maybe too much attention to the details. I haven't seen him swim but gathered he's a novice and quite slow. My guess is at least 15min for a 500m.
