Boracay or Bali ?

Hi guys!

Wanted to get your opinion on what maybe better. Bali or Boracay for next week, May 28th-June 1st?

Any suggestions on better spot for some R&R? Seems like Boracay is quite difficult to get to...

Are Bali beaches clean and blue or is it really just the resorts that make it worthwhile?

Boracay or Bali

I would recommend Bali, better hotels, nicer beaches and more things to do.
Boracay not that hard to get to, although depends on the airport you fly into. If you fly with Cebu pacific is around 2 hours by bus transfer.

Bali, maybe Phuket or Koh Samui too

There's a lot of construction and development going on in Boracay that's it's really not as nice going to than before.

If you want a more peaceful beach vacation, consider Palawan.... El Nido or the more upmarket Amanpulo.

Boracay has far better beaches than Bali, by a mile

I have been to boracay about 6 times and Bali twice, there is more to do in Bali sure, Phuket is another option and also has better beaches than Bali....in my opinion

I love Boracay, but you can't fly direct - probably easiest to fly HKG - MNL then domestic MNL to Caticlan. The beach there is so nice and everything is cheap (US$2 cocktails). You can get direct flights into Bali (or Phuket, if that is your fancy).

As long as you are not expecting a nice 500 room resort with pool and all amenites, Boracay is the place - you can get a nice beachfront apartment in "resort" of 12 apatments, including breakfast for US$120 a night. No need to walk on roads or bother with too many clothes, the beach is at your doorstep and you can just relax. NigiNigiToo is recommended.

If you want a resort-type of getaway that is easy, i would recommend Shangri-La Mactan Island (Cebu). You can fly direct on CX to there and they have a large pool/garden area along with a private beach. No need to leave the resort and you can just relax for a few days.

Hope this helps a little.

nice beach but crowded with vacationers (it's summer break), vendors and many corporate sponsored events happening. plus the rainy season has started already

i would recommend Phuket and staying at the Amari Orchird Coral Beach Resort, u can go snorkling off their private pier, clear water with lots of things to see, they have their own private beach as well, 2 swiming pools.

Patong beach is 5 mins away with lots of nightlife, shopping.

u can rent jeeps or scooters and park it at the hotel. great fun.

Thanks for your help guys! Phuket has already basically started its rainy season, otherwise, I would like to hit up Krabi, and I've been to Samui already.
Continously hearing the beaches in Boracay are much better than Bali.

Thought the rainy season does not start till sometime in June?!

Flight is tough. I can't take a morning flight so it looks like I will only get to Caticlan late at night (11pm or later). Anyone know if that is okay? Not sure if that is safe...

Any hotel recommendations would be great too!

MANILA, Philippines--The rainy season has officially started this week, according to the weather bureau.

The wet season usually begins on the fourth week of May but with La NiƱa conditions persisting in the country, the start of the rainy season came a week early, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Bali beaches are OK but nothing to brag about. What is nice in Bali is the country side (rice paddies, volcanos, lakes..) and the multitude of small temples.
If you stricly want a beach type holiday, IMO Bali is not the perfect spot. However if you want to mix nature/countryside with a bit of beach then it makes sense.
