hello, I bought a lovely puppy dog in a Mongkok petshop, got the health cert, vaccination records and all. however the Dog was strangele coughing the same day i picked it up
I took the puppy gift to my kids overseas, however she died only after 7 days due to "distemper desease" i had the my vet write a letter due to that effect.
Question is, can I make a claim against the store? is the government body that regulates them. they sure knew that the pup is sick.

Sadly, most pets in those shops are going to be sick; best to get them checked up immediately (or adopt).

Don't know of any claim you can make, but I seriously doubt it. Sorry.

That's going to be really hard. When I bought my puppy, the shop gave me a receipt that had a 7 days guarantee on it. She had the same issue, coughing and coughing. Next day, brought her to the vet and vet told me to bring her back to the pet shop to get my money back. I refused. Vet said it could be distemper or kennel cough. We persisted and looked after her and changed vet because we were at the vet every week and he couldn't say if puppy had distemper or not. Then puppy developed scabbies and brought her to another vet. Thank God, puppy turned out fine. Just kennel cough and scabbies. Word of advice or caution, always bring puppy to the vet after you pay for it to check on it's health. Then you can make the decision if you were duped into buying a sick dog or not.
