Web authoring software

I am looking for a good web authoring software package, preferably freeware but willing to pay if necessary.

I am trying to resurrect an old website that was created using Frontpage 2000, therefore I don't need the latest features but would like to experiment.

Any help is much appreciated

Webslinging pretty much falls into two categories... those who hand-code HTML using a simple ASCII editor like Notepad and the rest who simply use Adobe Dreamweaver (HK$3000+).

Everything else in-between can be found at CNet's Download site:

Most of the shareware/freeware entries contain user reviews.

Thanks Carter

I'm certainly not in the first category so I'll take a look at what CNET has and possibly consider Dreamweaver...
