Lomography - where can i print Holga 120 film?

Hello,

I live in Wan Chai and am trying to process my holga 120 film and have found my local photo place very expensive. they haven't got the equipment to process it themselves and so they send it away to another lab, which has a turn around of three weeks. 4R photos are HK$27 each and 5R are HK$36!

Can anyone suggest a professional lab or mini lab that can process 120 film quicker and cheaper?

Ta!

Send a message via Yahoo to dropdedfwed
get the lab to process it, then scan the negs yourself using a flatbed scanner with film adaptor, then print at any digital printing kiosk.

the epson 4990 and canoscan 9950 are affordable scanners for this sort of thing, and the results for medium format are quite good, apparently...

I have never done this, but I have been doing my homework cos I wanna grab a scanner for this purpose in the next few months...

I get my films processed or x-processed in "Color in August",Shop C G/F No. 322 Shanghai street Yau Ma Tei.They charge you $42 as a package ,including standard processing or e to c (x-processing),photos printed with CD,if you tell them you are lomographer, probably the cheapest. They also sell several kinds of negatives and slides.last week i bought a agfa ct100 there and it's cheaper than others($35).
you can also try yahoo bid.- was recommended to me on:
LOMO FORUM

U can try that shop or posting on the lomo forum linked above

hi everyone
thanks for all your advice. I went to Color Six and that worked out well (though don't ask them to scan your photos to cd as it costs $150 with processing or $25 per frame without processing).

I think i will buy a neg scanner and photo scanner to avoid these pitfalls in the future!

Color6 is a high end photo place. Maybe you can get scanning done elsewhere.

Anyway, I used to own a dedicated film scanner. The quality was great, but it was a right PIA because it was so slow and required so much Photoshop work.

Colour in August is fabulous. Tommy there knows just how to bring out the best in Lomo, including 35mm through the 120, expired film, cross-processing on slide film and any other peculiar requests you may have. Also sells Agfa slide film for around $30, cheapest I've seen it in HK.
The shop front is hilariously TINY, you'll probably be walking past it a few times before you see it!

Yeh the shop is mad small.
I think thats the best photo processing shop i've ever used -even the free photo album thing has a pictures type picture splashed across it.

Do try this shop - you may think its far but if u get off the MTR at Yau Mei Tai exit B2 and walk down Shanghai street you'll find it

I consider 150 per roll not expensive, since if you buy a scanner and do yourself it will be very time consuming. I found colour Six very reasonably priced and very fast.
