Ideas for a family holiday late October

Can anyone recommend where to go for a family holiday(with 2 kids) late October for a week?

Queensland's Gold Coast would be a great place for your kids, especially in October, because the weather is not too hot, but hot enough to hit the beaches.

Gold Coast Holidays, Family Holiday, Theme Parks - Warner Bros. Movie World | Warner Bros. Movie World all the theme parks are listed on this site.

http://www.dreamworld.com.au/

Gold Coast tour Queensland Movie World, Sea World, Wet'n'Wild, Dreamworld, & Surfers Paradise Good day trip suggestions on this car hire site, we did most of what was on it, and had a great time.

Locate your selves in Old burleigh road Broad Beach, staying at one of the many beach front apartment complexes, hire a Jeep Wrangler soft top for week to enhance your experience, immersing yourself into your trip, taking in the sights and sounds.

You could drive to the Currumbin wildlife sanctuary CWS - Welcome to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary , which the kids will love, also visit a banana plantation along the way, and make your way to Cape Byron/Byron bay for lunch/dinner at Strops beach Hotel ( any Paul Hogan Show Fans will know who Strop is ) during one days outing.

The next 3 days could be hitting the theme parks, Sea World, Movie World and Dream world.

Venture down to Runaway Bay ( 20-30 minutes drive from Broad Beach ) and catch an Island charter boat to Stradbroke Island, your kids will love all the water sport activities there.

If you can fit it in, make the big drive to the Eumundi / Noosa Heads, visit the Big Pineapple on the way back, including Eukanuba pub. That will cover a full weeks worth of activities, you can find a shed load of other alternative activities here > Surfers Paradise Local Knowledge the kids will have a blast, while you enjoy some uncrowded space, fresh air, clearest blue sky, amongst incredible scenery the whole time.

That would be a pretty awesome holiday from an entire family enjoyment perspective, more than worth the 8.5 hour airline flight.

I would suggest that the first photo (white beach, clear water, forest) is not the Gold Coast - possibly the Sunshine Coast or Whitsundays. If it is the Gold Coast, would love to know exactly where.

I know you said Aussie was too far, but depending on where "home" is, you might never be closer.
Our 1 year old loved his week on the Gold Coast. We stayed in Surfer's Paradise, but Burleigh is probably better if your kids are too old/young for Surfers. Currumbin's was nice, but David Fleay's was also nice. And the tropical rain forest (O'Reilly's) is also an easy day trip. There are also wineries in the area for mom and dad.

kids are 8 and 4?
They are not good with sightseeing - they prefer to be on the beach or by a pool, unlike their parents! Anymore ideas for me?

If sight seeing is off the list and its just going to be a resort centric holiday. Maybe consider a 1 week ocean liner cruise, leaving from HK, maybe to Vietnam or anywhere neighbouring that can be back in HK within a week.

You should be happy with that, as the ship will cater for all age groups.
