Venture down to Runaway Bay ( 20-30 minutes drive from Broad Beach ) and catch an Island charter boat to Stradbroke Island, your kids will love all the water sport activities there.
If you can fit it in, make the big drive to the Eumundi / Noosa Heads, visit the Big Pineapple on the way back, including Eukanuba pub. That will cover a full weeks worth of activities, you can find a shed load of other alternative activities here >
Surfers Paradise Local Knowledge the kids will have a blast, while you enjoy some uncrowded space, fresh air, clearest blue sky, amongst incredible scenery the whole time.
That would be a pretty awesome holiday from an entire family enjoyment perspective, more than worth the 8.5 hour airline flight.
