UK citizenship?

Hey all...
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with my question.
I was born in HK in 72 and pretty much right afterwards moved to Canada. I have citizenship in Canada and in the United States. I am wondering if there's any way of obtaining UK citizenship by being a British National Overseas (which I think is what I am by being born in HK at the time).

thanks!

BNO was something you had to claim at the time it was offered and if you don't renew it then it lapses. It is not a status that anyone can acquire now.

Why do you want UK citizenship if you have Canadian? (I could see why you might want to renounce American.)

You may have HK Chinese citizenship as well by virtue of your birth here, if your parents are Chinese.

if they change the tax laws as rumoured for expats then you can have my UK passport for free, after I wipe my backside on it - just change the picture and give it a good clean

And what is your status if your parent are not chinese? One question that i have not managed to clear up is if you were born in HK and your parents are not chinese or HK residents, do you have the Right of Abode in HK?

1) You cannot apply for BNO status now, you should have done so before 1997 (if you wished to gain the status)

2) There is no such status as "Hong Kong citizenship". If you are referring to Hong Kong permanet resident status, then presuming you are non-Chinese, you'd have to live in HK for 7 years continuously.
