Converting .pub files??

Hello all,

Does anyone in this pool of wisdom know how to convert .pub files into a format readable by most "normal" software (eg Acrobat reader, Word etc etc)... I think it was originally a MS Publisher doc, received by email...

Thanks in advance,

DDF

i would love to know the same thing... i've been creating really nice looking newsletters, but am having trouble figuring out a way to send them to people as most don't have publisher.
the best i can do is save it as a jpeg, but it loses much of its clarity as it's so small...

Hey Stoob and Jimbo,

Thanks for that. Will give it a whirl. In my frustration I found another site which was ok, i just converted the .pub file to a .txt file and it worked ok... not tried doc or pdf etc yet...

Zamzar - Free online file conversion

this site was very slow (6.5mb .pub file), so I will give your suggestions a go next time.

Thanks dudes,

DDF

Do you have a working version of Publisher? Then I'd strongly recommend a PDF tool like the one linked to by Stoob. No need to fuss over uploading it to a site and waiting for it to convert (and god knows what they might do with the originals...).

Exactly! And "printing it to PDF" with a PS printer driver pretty much makes the tool work for any kind of Windows program that can print and does not restrict it to specific software such as Publisher. Here's another Ultra Shareware - Free Ultra PDF Printer, print and convert any document such as word, html, ppt to PDF . There's more - just google or check out the popular freeware/shareware sites. Cara, try one of these.

I don't have Publisher, which is why I can't open the files (or rather, couldn't before).

Also, with a Mac, you can save any page as a PDF or postscript by using part of the in-built OS-X print options... but you need to be able to open the dang thing to begin with!

Carang could probably use the PDF converter as mentioned...

Thanks for your help guys,

DDF
