If your problem is just the lack of an address and credit card, there are companies which solve this for you. Try these two - one of them does credit cards too but I cannot remember which. Borderlinx International shipping & tax solution from the US MyUS - US Mail Forwarding, Worldwide Shipping If there is some other problem (the link did not help) then I cannot suggest a solution (other than a friend in the USA who can buy for you!)

Dymocks in IFC has a book downloading machine - not too sure of the technical name if there is one !! - ANYWAY i emailed them and asked when they would get the ebook so i could use the machine and they said soon. This was about a month ago. so maybe worth a call / visit. Their ebook was able to read more formats than the sony reader but I can't remember what it was called - sorry. I am hoping to buy one when I am in europe next week......

Those links offer me a US address, but as you will have noticed the site I want to get on needs a internet connection from within the States. While the books are free, the company does require registration with a credit card, presumably from the US. The books are in pdf format and so do not need UPS to deliver. I have tried people in the states, but have run into a bunch of luddites who absolutely refuse to order on line-they are sure they will go straight to hell if they tippy type their credit card number into the devil's machine. I guess I will wait till the site goes global --- The Dilbert fellow has the right idea-he put a book of his [God's Debris] up for free download and probably boosted his blog traffic by several million.

One of those links gives you access to a US credit card. You basically use "their" card (giving yours to them, obviously). I'm not sure quite what you mean by an internet connection within the US - somebody technical might be able to direct you to a proxy server (if that is what they are called!) which could help.
