ps2 repair

Hi, my old ps2 slimline recently broke down (probably the laser). Does anyone know a depot that I could drop it off for repairs and how much that would cost?

thanks

just take it to any shops that sell the console and games, they usually have an engineer that fixes them, ask them how much. if they quote too much then i suggest u just give up and think about buying the PS3.

The currently released PS3 however is not backwards compatible. They ended it with the 60gb version because they are starting to sell old games on the PSN network. Sucks. I'm sure you can find used cheap PS2's for cheap at Golden. I know you can also find a modified Super Famicom for cheap, pretty cool.

That version of the PS3 is insanely expensive now. I would say just get a PS2 on the side or something haha. The first batch of PS3's are also hard to find. Last I heard launch PS3's are going for 600-800 US each because they are backwards compatible. BTW only reason I know this is because I work in game industry, not the uber nerd that goes on forums correcting people...... damn....... uber nerd here.... damn.... need a beeer.....

I believe it's the 20gb and 60gb. The you'll have to research that for a bit. But the 40gb isn't backwards compatible. But if you find the first batch also let me know. I want one haha.
