Camping in Hong Kong in May and June

Hi,
Im considering flying to Hong Kong this week to look for work, but will have limited resources, so the free camping available at Pui O and the other 35 campsites seem to be the obvious option for accommodation.
Just wondering if you'd consider it too hot to camp right now and how it would be during May and June.
Ive been to hong kong before in november, but would really need some feedback from the ground to have a good idea of the feasibility for summertime camping.
any info would be great.
thanks.

If you're coming to HK to look for work (which is illegal of course) then wouldn't you want to have access to a shower, somewhere to store your clothes so they are in a reasonable condition (maybe even the means to press them), and surely some sort of internet access?

Frankly, why would you want to go all the way out to Pui O to sleep on the ground? You could just sleep in a secluded spot in the city and have much easier access to public toilets.

Or failing that a bed in a hostel in Chung King Mansions is only going to cost your HK$100 a night or so, which isn't much more than the cost of getting to and from Pui O from Central.

In fact in this post someone recommends a hostel which costs $60 per night, which is cheaper than the transportation to and from Pui O (or most camp sites).

re camping

thanks ill check into the place for 100 a night. I can get a work holiday visa for the year in HKG, so wont have any legal probs looking for work.

will be doing my best to avoid any jobs of a suited and booted description - but if all else fails, ill have a wrinkle proof shirt tucked down in the bottom of my bag.
