Path up High West

Hi, does anyone know exactly where the footpath up High West starts. It's supposed to be from the playground at the intersection of Harlech and Lugard. I've seen people at the top of High West, but 3 visits later I still can't find the path!

cleaner1 is on a distinguished road
up

You have to go to the playground mentioned and go to the back of it and ask a local with a pointing up motion 'bindo sai ko shan' that is how I found the path to get up there. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I did find the trail location but that day was cloudy so didn't take it. Went back and down to Pokfulam Reservoir instead.

...and once at the top, if you keep going past the 'footpath closed' sign, there's an interesting walk down the ridge to bring you out above Queen Mary's

I think that could be better described as a "scramble" rather than a walk. Don't try that in bad weather.

I missed the footpath closed part until PDLM's post. I don't think I 'd go against a sign like that.

Still didn't find it yesterday, but did get to Pinewood Battery which is very, very worth it if you want to see and learn more history of Hong Kong and how it fell to the Japanese. You can see where the big guns were and the living and storage quarters.

It was quite remarkable until I ventured down a short trail to discover a warm up suit hanging up right beside a lady's bra and panties. WTF is that about??!!!!

Hmm...that's a little odd. Could be:

1. One half of a couple having a little fun in the woods.

2. A woman got drenched in the rain and decided to change clothes, leaving her wet ones behind to pick up later.

3. Someone prefers putting their clothes out to dry outdoors and this is the only way they could make it happen.

There could be a number 4 as suggested by my hiking partner when I took the next photo of one of the harder to get to Pinewood Battery buildings.

There was an older woman pacing back and forth inside and when she saw my camera pointing up through the trees she jumped back inside and kept looking out. We walked down the trail to see if she'd emerge as she might have touring the old buildings and nope, she stayed put. The reason this might be plausible is that there is a washroom etc up close by and if you were going to inspect those old buildings she chose the one that was more difficult to reach. Very strange.

I still didn't find the trail to High West but did see the High West marker on the map - but it didnt seem to point to the trail.
