Inform HSBC about travel?

Hi guys

Is there any need to inform my bank that I'm going to be in India for a month?

I don't want my cards to be rejected.

Had no trouble abroad before but then I wasn't abroad very long.

Their website has nothing about this, far as I can tell

Cheers

Virgil

Send a message via MSN to jimbo
Then best to tell them for peace of mind, Last thing you need/want is for your cards to be rejected over there.

No harm in trying. And make sure when there that you have the number of HSBC card services to hand so that you can call them if there's any difficulty. Also make sure that their mobile phone contact number for you is up to date and that you have it with you.

To be honest I have never had my HSBC card flagged when abroad, in contrast to my Citibank card where I have had calls from them on a number of occasions checking that I was indeed trying to make certain transactions. (This has been in Hong Kong as well as overseas.) This is one area where I feel Citibank might be a bit more on the ball than HSBC.
