Hi All, I,m leaving HK soon and wish to transfer some 200.000 hkd to my UK bank. I internet bank with HSBC HK and know I can do a transfer to my UK bank, subject to my daily transfer limit. Do any of you pundits out there know of a cheaper way, and is there a limit on the amount of cash you can stuff in your pockets?

The daily limit can be increased to a maximum of HK$1M by filling in a simple form to make your UK account a Registered Account (available through HSBC online or from your branch) and mailing it to your branch. Then you will only need to make one transfer which will almost certainly be the cheapest, and definitely the most convenient way.
