| | | Try Mong Kok flower market, I'm sure you can get some herbs there. I personally have mint, meon mint, basil and rosemary all bought from Sai Kung so I'm sure you can get it elsewhere. I've also had lemon grass and aloe given to me.
Then there are the seed packets you can also get, we've bought coriander but not got round to planting them yet. We are growing our own chilis though.

| | | You can get basil, mint and sturdy little chilli plants along main st on lamma.
Mint should be kept in its pot and never transferred to open soil. It spreads like crazy. One small $10 mint stem I planted 2 months ago now occupies an entire 2ft x 8ft roof planter. The basil never stood a chance :-(
Bad herb! Back in your pot!

| | | You guys are lucky to have enough space to grow herbs! I'm envious. I have to make do with stuff I get around town, or even worse, the dried and pre-ground variety.

Herbs are also on sale at the Botanical Gardens, on the western side.
Your rooftop is an excellent place to put stuff like kari patta, while most other will tolerate the window sill [inside]

You can just keep them in pots on a windowsill.
Also agree that mint is a right little bugger if left unattended. My hubby keeps on having to chop it all off before we can use it all, can't keep having mint tea all the time.

| | | I bought a few potted herbs at the Flower Show in March. They ranged from $15-20. We've re-potted them and they're growing nicely in our balcony. We got basil, mint, oregano and rosemary. The strawberry plant unfortunately didn't make it. I've also seen tomato and green pepper plants at Japan Home Center. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8.
