Hi, I've heard there is serious airplane noise issue in PI, is thattrue? Any PI residents can comment? Thanks.

I've been living on Park Island close to 2 years and the plane noise doesn't really bother me at all.

Hi Sunniefaith, do you mind sharing which phase or block you live in? It seems like some residents find it a real problem but some says it dosen't really bother them.

im in block 21, facing the bridge (30th floor) and i cant hear most of the planes. only the really big heavy ones, that fly low. sounds like a train or truck drives by. but that only happens once every few days. the others i cant hear at all and i have the windows open all the time (i hate aircons).
i can assure you park island is one of the nicest and quiet places in hong kong.

Same here, our flat is facing the bridge and we can't hear the planes. I mentioned before in another thread that it might be different when you face the other side (airport) and hear the planes taking off.

All we hear are the birds chirping and a ship horning every now and then. Recently the frogs (or toads?) started making interesting noise in the drains late in the evenings. Quite amusing...

I face Sham Tseng. The planes fly pass my block occasionally , but the noise hardly bothers me - day or night. Wonderful sound sea breeze like you're in the spa all day. Well, the vessels horn every now and then. But for the quietness and spectacular view, its worth it!

I was in block 19 last year and this year block 25 and we're planning to move to another block again. Block 19, sea view, facing the village, there were noise but nothing like drilling or really annoying sounds that would bother me or keep me awake all night. Block 25, garden view, facing inside. Same, no annoying plane sounds that would annoy the hell out of me. But rather, crazy neighbours that slam their door and then scream at each other. There are 2 units on my floor that don't get along with each other, but they are not on my side of units, thank God!

wow sounds like there are a few residents in PI here...thanks for all the comments! i'll be moving into a blk facing the village and sham tseng!
