Any apartments you would not recommend?

Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for any of the apartment blocks in DB.

There's always a few places that people say under their breath "ooh I heard they had roaches" or "ugh the walls are like paper in that place"...you know the kind of thing I mean..

So here's your chance to help me eliminate some of "those" blocks off my list...given we are most likely looking at phases 5, 1, and 2.

Thanks!

In all 3 phases the gross/net ratio is not too bad. IMHO I'd prefer phase 1 and 2 - I assume you talk about the high rises in phase 1. What you have to check in phase 1 before you sign any lease would be the plumbing to make sure it has been renewed since it was built. Phase 2 is also known as "General Hospital" - with a bit of luck you'll find a place with a terrace for a reasonable price. Be aware that it is located on a steep hill and you only have 1 bus route going up there. Also when you are traveling you need a bus down to the plaza to get the airport/Tung Chung/Sunny Bay bus. Phase 1 and 5 are located along the bus routes.
I personally don't like phase 5 (the Greens) - but then again you'll be able to find the best value for money there.
Feel free to pm me when you have more questions.

Where to live in DB?

Hi,

I'll be relocating to HK in a week and have 2 weeks to find a place in DB to live, in time for the arrival of my "furkid" (my dog

I'll be spending quite a bit of time in Central and would like to know which area/phase of DB would be the most convenient for a frequent traveller to Central. I'm looking for approx. 600sq ft for max. rent $14k. I really need a place with a modern kitchen.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as I have limited time to find a place. Thank you.

I recommend you to look into La Costa (Costa Court, Onda Court), Elegance Court, Glamour Court and Brilliance Court. They are all withing walking distance to the Plaza/ferry pier. You should be able to find a 1-2 bedroom apartment within your budget.
I can pm you name and number of an agent I can highly recommend if you want to.
Good luck

PerryCo is on a distinguished road
Talk to any good agent and they can point you to good buys and rentals. As for distance, all bus routes operate rush hour service with buses running every five minutes from 7 am to 9 am. All buses are coordinated with ferry's so you shouldn't worry. I catch a 10:30 bus and arrive at the ferry to walk on the 10:40 ferry every day. About 25 minutes to Central, walk through the IFC and catch a bus to Kennedy Town. Total time less than an hour.

Buses are usually waiting at the plaza in the evening when boats come in.

So, only question is do you want to walk to the plaza, or ride a bus to shop?

My suggestion is look at the south end of Dbay.

Finally, DBay is a great place for Expat families.
