Id like to ask all of you out there who are involved in the education field in HK.

What is the outlook like (in your opinion) for ESL teaching in Hong Kong?
Does anyone know anything about opportunities in the areas of curriculum development and instructional design?

I am pondering the idea of looking for work in these areas in Hong Kong. However, I only have ESL teaching experience in North America but my study is in Education Technology (M.Ed) for higher education. I was just told by my classmate today that HK gov't is cutting back 33% funding for post secondary? so maybe not so good?

As well did most of you apply for job once you got to HK or from your homeland? I am going to HK tomorrow for an indefinate period. I have been cleared for my ROA status but not sure if i should apply as a foreigner or as a local.

The Ministry is now looking for Native English Speakers to be attached to schools. If you have formal education in Education, its not a big problem. Look under the NET Program
