Roller-blading, cycling, rock-climbing...(and the list goes on) in HK

Does anyone know where to blade in HK? Doesn't seem to me during my short visit here anywhere thats good for roller-blading and cycling??? Any recommandation for good places to do natural rock-climbing? Are there plenty of indoor rock gyms? What about diving? I came in winter so most of the dive shops were closed and I couldn't ask for any advice. Is the diving good in HK? I know its not a world class dive destination so I am not holding my hopes up high, but generally is the diving any good? Is wakeboarding popular? What's the price generally for an hour's rental of the powercraft for wakeboarding?
I have loads of equipment at home so just wondering what to stuff in my luggage to lug to HK...
And of course, hi to any keen sports fanatics out there!

The biking and roller-blading is the most limited. There's quite a bit of rock-climbing (walls & natural), diving & wakeboarding (not sure on the cost).

So your advice is to leave my roller blades and bike back home?

There's plenty of people biking out in Tai Wai, which is accessible by KCR. Problem is you can't take your bike on trains in HK, unless it's a folding model. If you cab it out there, you're good to go. There's even a whole bunch of stalls out there that let you rent 'em out for anywhere from an hour to a day. I had a blast out there as a kid, I should go out there again sometime soon

Oh yeah, I've heard there's some amazing marine life to be seen off Hong Kong's smaller islands. I don't know who arranges that kind of thing, though. Perhaps you should google "hong kong scuba" or "hong kong PADA"?

I'm also interested in rock climbing, have done it twice in UK and loved it! if anyone knows where to natural rock climb AND indoor climbing gyms, please tell! I'm interested in joining up with climbers on the weekends, if they'll have me.

Most of the wakeboarding is out in the New Territories either just North of Sai Kung or by High Island Reservoir. It is also possible to wakeboard on the south side of the Island in Repulse Bay, although the police are a bit keen on stopping the boats, checking documentation and moving them further out into the bay - where the water tends to be a bit lumpy.

Cost wise I think we pay around $600 an hour but I will check (This figure may be really wrong as I don't pay for the boat).

For a little bit more info check out www.xgamehk.com/sports.htm

Price sounds alright

600HKD sounds alright, (knowing the cost of living in HK) although cut-throat price compared to home, in HK I suppose that's fairly reasonable.
DavidHK, do you wakeboard? Maybe we could do that together when I get to HK =) ... if you are keen.
Thanks for the info !
