Angry P'n'S internet deliveries - What's going on?

Anyone else noticed how bad P'n'S are getting with out of stock items when items ordered via the internet are delivered?

I've noticed it get worse and worse and today more than 50% of what was ordered was not delivered and was noted as "Out of Stock". So I assume that their internet system is not connected to their stock inventory system and is more than likely linked to some spreadsheet that some spotty teenager tries to keep up to date on a daily basis.

So despite trying to save time and hassle, especially that you encounter when trying to negotiate both a buggy and trolley round a store at the same time, I still have to go to the friggin shop anyway! What's the point of their internet service.......?

possibly has something to do with the increase cost of food or food shortage ... although I think not ... possibly more to do with inefficiencies

We soured on the whole HK internet food ordering system months ago for the same reason. So I doubt the cause is the food shortage.
And PnS has a hard enough time keeping the shelves stocked in their stores, so the internet inventory level is out of the question. They need to hire someone from Toyota to fix their problems.

Now that I agree with 100%. Actually that would probably go for a good 90% of world businesses.

You could also include Miele of Germany, which has one of the most advanced computer automated stock picking and distribution systems known to the developed world. All with a little help from IBS of Sweden.

The Germans and the Japanese really have production, logistics and distribution efficiency down to a fine art.

And it isn't just PnS. Most grocery stores we go to see to have random stocking patterns as does Toys-r-Us. Items aren't in stock and nobody knows when they might be in stock. Almost like an off-season Santa just shows up unannounced with product and/or food. Really quite annoying.
