Hi,

I am 23 yo and moving to HK next month.

My company will rent me a flat in HK so i do not have to worry about housing costs.

Anyway, is 18,000 HKD/month enough to live in HK?
I mean having some fun (travelling, hanging out, bars,...),using MTR transportation system, having broadband and cellphone, and having fitness center subscription.

it should be good enough if your housing is taken care of. however, it really depends on your lifestyle...just check out other threads about the cost of living in hk

Without rent to care about, 18000a month should be more then fine to live.

More than 50% of the local population live on half that amount. Public transport is very cheap, eating out in small local shop is also not expensive.

You should be able to go out a few times a week, travel and save money if you are reasonable.

Lots of expat make 3 to 20 times that amount though so it's easy to get sucked in and start spending
