My Visa Problem - Can someone give me some advice?

So here is my problem. I applied for a work visa in Shenzhen in January. The police were supposed to come see me at work before they can approve it. They never came. My coworker went for me to ask why, 6 times, but they just told her to go back to our company and wait till they come. We went together yesterday to the police and they were surprised it took this long. They said I need to renew my visa first and then they can get it all done if I give them my Visa on friday.

So, I need a new visa. To be safe it should be a L Visa dual entry in case it takes a little longer..

So, Does this mean I cannot get this done in 1 day, that I have to stay in HK for 3 or so days, that I need to have a plane ticket showing that I am leaving Hong Kong to return home to America, and have a hotel booked in China somewhere?

Can I get this done in Macao?

Where exactly or can I get this done in WanChai still at an agency?

Is there anything else I should know?

Is it possible to get a visa extension in Guangzhou for 30 days and can that be done in one day?

you can get a new visa anywhere, that has a exit and entry office, but you must live in that area with proof...
Address/Office hours/Enquiry service

how much was the fee?
i paid 940rmb for a single entry...

What about all the recent rules? It seems I can't get this done in a day, no rush service and I need proof of plane ticket and hotel confirmation? It doesn't seem so simple.

My last working visa expired, my company didn't keep track of it and let it lapse, so I had to reapply for it.

So if I go into HK tomorrow, what would I need to bring with me to get it done, and can it be done same day?

you can attempt to use a doctored flight intinarary and hotel reciept, ive read there are places in hk that will do this for a small fee.
sure you can finish it in one day, if you have all the items/documents with you, or you can use a travel service, it all depends how much you are willing to spend and how much time you want to save.

An L visa is for Tourist so you need at least an F visa which means you need a letter from the company to support the application. It will take the same time to get. However you should be able to get an extension visa in Shenzhen through the police system.

Actually, I keep calling it a working visa, but it is a residence permit that is being redone. So all I need is a L visa so that they have enough time to process it.

I don't think you can get a residence permit on any visa lower than F. You will need F or Z.

I definately only had an L visa when I got it last year. But whatever, if it takes the same amount of time I'll get an F to be safe. the police station apparently has forgotten how to answer the phone so I can't ask about this now. What should this Letter from my company say?

Hang on a minute here -- " it is a residence permit that is being redone "

So why do you need an L visa if you ALREADY have a residence permit. This is a visa page in your passport with an expiry date and you will have an Aliens Employment Permit ( Brown Book ). You renew it when due - Simple.

I refer you to my comments in the PM reply to your PM.
