Best hot spring in Taiwan

We are going to be in Taiwan for a few days and want to spend a day at a hot spring spa that is close (within one hour) of Taipei and was hoping for some recommendations. We will be with our three year old, so we are looking for something family friendly.

Thanks!

Hi lemonade,
I am from Taipei and my favorite hot spring area is a place called "Wulai". Wulai - a Atayal aborigine village in the mountains an hour's drive south of Taipei. To get there, take the MRT to Xindian(last station from green line), turn right out of the station, and walk up to the 7-11 and catch a Wulai-bound bus (which now reads "Sindian" instead of "Wulai"). Tell the driver to let you out at the place you want to go. The bus journey is around 30 mins, many turns as it goes uphill, very nice scenery along the way.

You can also hire a tour bus for a day trip there. The website: Welcome to Taiwan Tour Bus

Here are some more information about Wulai.

Hope that can help you a bit and have a nice trip there!

Villa 32 doesn't welcome guests under age of 16. I suggest you try "spring" hot spring. Actually not sure of its english name, but the literal translation of this hot spring hotel is "spring". It's in the same area as Villa 32, also one of the top ones in taipei, and welcome families of all ages.
