| | | Jazz Bars in HK? Having just recently moved here, I'm on the lookout for some nice jazz bars to check out. Would appreciate any suggestions.
By the way, this is an excellent site ... it made my move to HK so much easier! Ta!

| | | There are quite a number, although there are not many more bands/musicians than bars so you can end up seeing the same faces.
Gecko just of Hollywood Road might be a good place to start for an intimate sort of place with thre/four piece groups. The Fringe Club also has jazz, including the monthly set by the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra, which does more big band stuff.

| | | Try the CHAMPAGNE BAR in Grand Hyatt Hotel (on the ground floor). Two men (one is playing cello and the other on piano) plus one pretty female vocal. Lovely music and lovely voice. A nice place to relax yourself after work. The band is on (if I remember correctly) between 9pm - 11pm... | |

| | | jazz and fusion LIVE Hey all, we play live jazz and fusion at the Bohemia lounge on old bailey street in SOHO every thursday from 10pm to 12am, the clubs in HK have really stopped jazz, even bohemia want us to play more POP music, but we are trying to persist, if you love jazz and want more raw real music let the club owners know, its dying in HK/
Peace

| | | jazz in HK Yeah Gecko is a good place for live music, the owner is very cool about supporting us musicians, I also play thursdays at bohemia lounge close to gecko, on old bailey street from 10pm to 12am.
If you want more jazz request it from club owners, they have really lost interest in jazz or blues/fusion music in HK, everyone wants DJ's or pop bands these days it would seem.
