hi, i've landed a job on cyberport 3 and will be moving in by mid may this year. haven't been to hong kong can anyone please help advise on where to stay? my budget is 5,000-7,000HKD for the rental. is this enough to get a comfy place near cyberport or surrounding area

Not easy to find a place for HKD5-7k walking distance to Cyberport. What I'm renting in Bel Air next to Cyberport is HKd55k/mth for 1600sqft. If I divide that, you'd only have 170-220sqft to live. Near Cyberport is Baguio Villas but it's also not cheap. Maybe you can try Aberdeen? Near but you need a bus to get to Cyberport.

hi wholsome, thanks. How long is the commute from aberdeen to cyberport? How about pokfulam I've read its also near cyberport? Which is a better choice aberdeen or pokfulam in terms of transportation and rentals?

kenchi - we're in cyberport, but moving out soon.

Take a look at Aberdeen or Kennedy Town. About 20-30 mins away from Cyberport by Minibus (factor in 5-8$ per trip).

Pokfulam will pretty much be out of your budget, unless you can find someone who will rent you a room in their apartment. To be honest, don't pin your hopes on that...

One more place you could look at would be Chi Fu in Pokfulam, which has some budget places (again, not sure at all if there is something there in the 5-7K range).
