Next to Bel Air Ph2, there is a really nice park adjacent to the sea. Lots of families are there with their kids, playing freesbie etc. Other walk their dog. Ask your hubby to look out for it. Not so obvious but very accesible. Entry next to The Arcade.

Mumto2

it might not be a bad idea to check out Discovery bay while hubby is in town too. Its a very comfortable 25 minute ferry trip to and from Central. Thinking about the kids a bit and if you intend to take up a more active outdoor life, without any traffic surrounding your residence, it might be worth considering. Cars are banned to enter Discovery bay area. Pictured below

One of Hong Kongs largest Australian communities with kids, lives in Discovery Bay. Sai Kung and Clearwater bay are other very popular area's for us Aussies, but if anything longer than a 30 minute commute is an issue to you, it wont matter.

A photo of Sai Kung below

i know ronsdale garden as i used to have students there. if you drive it is ok. if not you take a minibus as no bus goes past. this mini bus is not as frequent as the other minibus that goes down chun fai road, past the two supermarkets. now, the distance is easily walkable but going to the supermarkets it is uphill and on a HK summer day, not pleasant at all. it is easier to get down to ronsdale garden via the steps...
you can actually walk all the way to causeway bay in about 15-20 minutes via the steps...

the flat were ok in size nothing spectacular. can't comment on the other facilities as i never got to use them. back when i taught there, there were quite a few kids around.

Agreed Wholesome! Hubby is in HK now and is having a look at all the areas tomorrow which is exciting and I can't wait to hear about it and see all the pictures he is instructed to take.

Thanks to everyone for their input and help!
