Aeroplane Noise at Upper Kornhill

Aeroplane Noise at Upper Kornhill

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

we're just back from Canada, important to look for quiet environment with lots of fresh air. We're considering upper kornhill, but wonder if there'll be any disturbance during sleep(esp in early morning) caused by plane noise. If you're staying at kornhill (esp upper), grateful if you can share your experience on this.

I have lived there and think you are describing blocks a - g?.
I lived in the lower part ( Block N ) and looked at moving up to Block C in one of the duplex that those blocks come with.

No problem with airplane noise at all. I think that there is some very distant low sound that occurs in the very late night as a couple of those flights ( the BA and Cathay red eyes to London ) seem to route occasionally in a different pattern to the rest of the day. You are by no means under a flight path or anywhere near.

Kornhill for me was a wonderful existence and those upper blocks have the sports club adjacent. Myself being now unsporty and portly enjoyed being closer to Jusco with its wonderful French style Bakery of delight.

Makes me hungry just thinking about it !

I think its wonderful. The locals all rattle on about Tai Koo Shing but its a slum compared with Kornhill.

The blocks have friendly and good security. The maintenance is top quality and services very good. I would recommend ( if you can find one ) to get a duplex on the top floor. The views are breathtaking and the layout magnificent.

You have a minibus service as part of the deal in the a-g. Good if your a lazy B that can't walk more than 100yds. There is a Wellcome ( ? ) supermarket at the sports centre as well as a laundry , Jusco, kindergarden, Commercial fitness centre on the stairs route going down the hill. In Tai Koo Shing you have the BIG mall Tai Koo City for all your designer needs and Pizza !

I found my place on a Monday and moved in 2 days later on the Wednesday - I was that taken with it.

If we hadn't had to move to China for a year on business, I would still be there.

When we visited Upper Kornhill in a few afternoons, we're very impressed by the country park at the back & the surrounding greens; yet heard frequent plane noise. I guess the plane noise shouldn't be a problem during day time, but worry that it might pose a problem early in the morning, since usually we wake up late.

Boris, thank you very much for your sharing. Would appreciate if other Kornhill residents can also share their experiences with us. Thanks. llam
