| | | How long is the commute really?? Can someone tell me please how long the commute would be from Stanley to Wan Chai? Hubby would have to be at work around 9am and would probably get public transport.

| | | Public transport from Stanley is a bit terrible, mind. Limited mostly to crazy minibus drivers who drive around sharp turns on steep cliffside roads at 50mph. | |

Pok Fu Lam is quiet a nice spot, and a lot easier commute via taxi etc to Wan Chai. Probably 20 minutes tops during peak hour times. Your kids will love it, as there are a lot of expat families with children living in the area.
KIA or Rani are your best source regarding commute times as they live in the area. Maybe they can add some informed experience regarding commute times, during those hours.
Some other area's you could also consider that would have easy commute to Wan Chai are, Braemar Hill, happy Valley and Tai Hang.

| | | Actually commute from the South isn't so bad. My partner rides a motorcycle to Admiralty every day and it takes him about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. It takes me 20 minutes to get to Times Square in Causewat Bay by car or by minibus.
What's nice about living in the South is it's a real break from the noise/craziness. It's nice and green, and you can walk to a lot of places.
Real-estate prices, on the other hand, are going through the roof down here! It's nuts; | |

| | | via MTR Hi Mumto, replied also on the other thread you started. My wife and I arrived HK in May 07 and was stayin at Repulse Bay, not too far from Stanley. it's a beautiful place but I did not find it too convenient for me to get to Causeway Bay (where I work). Living now in Bel-Air (close to Pokfulam). There is a regular shuttle bus provided FOC to Sheung Wan MTR. Takes 20min. From there, it's just 3 stops to Wanchai. Takes 5-7 mins. We're happy where we are now, a new apartment, nice seaviews, convenience of eating, groceries, laundry ..near enough to Center of HK yet far enough away. | |
