Question: What country is to the north of the border from the United States?

Well, after she proceeded to say that she new the answer because they learnt a song about it at school, she then stopped and said "Oh, I can't remember."

She had to get one of the kids to answer it for her.

We keep on mentioning exotic countries like HK, China, Australia and I believe Crocodile is talking about "Canada".
Usually the surveys point out that Americans can't place Texas, New York and California on a map. And the map only shows the US or North America which, to those placing HK in England, is obviously half the battle.

Barry!

“The people of Asia want to know whether you mean Washington in the Philippines or Washington in South Africa?”

“Washington DC,” she said. “In the United States.”

“There’s a Washington in the US, too?”

So, by "oh my" she meant "Oh, Malaysia"?
As every American knows, Malaysia is to the south of the US. Somewhere below Mexico, near Chilly or one of those other foreign countries nobody can spell.
(And now we all know how Columbus could set sail for Asia, land in the Caribbean and call them the "Indies".)
What a sad state of affairs.
