we board dogs and can tell you that it is usually the small dogs that cause problems. owners think of them as "children" not dogs and this can create a whole mess of problems. the small dogs are often allowed to cause chaos and bark incessantly because they are small. there's no way an owner would put up with a ridgeback (absolutely LOVE these dogs!) causing such mayhem!

good luck!

Hi Carang,

Don't worry I don't plan to get a pram for him as although hes a baby hes not a spoil brat so he needs to get on his little feet and walk or run instead of being taken everywhere without moving himself.

Where do you work? You do boarding? I am actually looking for a place for my naughty little one to stay when I go home to UK to visit my family at the end of June. I want him to stay some where where he will get looked after properly and not like some boarding places that only give them a little crate to stay in with no human contact or exercise at all. I need a friendly place where he would have a great vacation himself when I am on vacation myself. Please recommend if you know anywhere. I'm looking in advance because I want to find a best place for him.

Thanks

To: Alby,

Thanks for all the information you have provided me. She does talk to him sometimes and somehow he does friendly bark back at her like they are having a conversation, just that she is not visically having contact with him. Hope to keep in touch with you all that have provided me with great advice and info. I have had dogs in the house before but they were all grown up now that I have a little pup its like learning to be a mum!

Most Vets recommend about 6 months old, but a lot of shelters will do it as early as they can, so they can re-home them ASAP. There's no maximum age for desexing, but it's easier and quicker and safer when your pet is young.
