| You really do need to contact your credit card company - I'm sure others have contacted them already, so they should have a good answer on how they're going to deal with this by now.

BA are doing special fare for 1250 ex taxes. re credit card, if you paid by a uk credit card, you will be protected, thanks to uk consumer protection laws. don't know the situation in hk though. also contact your travel insurance company.

Surely if it was fuel costs, then Viva Macau would soon be announcing a similar situation, no? Can someone please enlighten the ignorant?

Getting your money back... Hi, I'm not an expert but here is what I've found out so far If you paid with a UK credit card you will have no trouble getting your money back. The good old consumer credit act makes card issuers jointly liable if the seller does not provide the goods purchased. If you paid with a UK card, call your card issued ASAP. Explain that Oasis has gone into liquidation and get them to dispute the charges. If Oasis have your money but are not going to give you your flight then you will get your money back. I am not an expert on HK credit cards although ironically despite having a UK card I used my HK card for "convenience". I only bought my tickets two days ago (first time to try Oasis - was trying to avoid the Terminal 5 hell at Heathrow - D'oh!) and my payment is still marked as pending. In theory as they are in liquidation they should not attempt to claim the money. In which case the money that has been reserved will be released shortly. If they do take the money without the intent to provide the service then they have broken the law (along with Visa / Mastercard rules) and I will be able to dispute the charge and get a full refund. The only small wrinkle is if you have bought an Oasis ticket and have now rebooked with another carrier and someone rescues Oasis and your flight is going to fly - you cannot dispute the transaction as they have delivered the goods. Either way, do not bother with Oasis. All the people in the UK say are "We're just a sales office - we don't know what's happening or how to refund you.". Just call your card issued and dispute the transaction. Hope this helps... Cheers, Pete

Thanks for the prompt reply! Sadly, I bought it in HK and use my HK credit card. I should have used my UK credit instead!!! Let me call up the credit card company now. I will call the card company now. What's more, I bought it from the Oasis website directly and not through travel agency, so basically I have no protection at all... Chantal.
