Which many of us had said from day 1.

Anyways, not that I care.

All I can say is, no airlines that has advertised on GeoExpat has ever gone bankrupt.
It's a good thing that you didn't start working with.. that guy with "that" airline which turned out to be a scam

Not that it matters now, but around 4 months ago i was sitting next to a guy on the Tung Chung line to Central when he decided to do a spot of work on the train.

Proceeded to whip out his calculator and a bound folder containing printed financial reports for Oasis. Including a draft P&L statement for the month preceeding.

As i was sitting right next to him, I happened to glance over occassionally and i can confirm that the financial picture wasn't rosy at all.

I did write an email to someone at Oasis informing them of this guy doing highly confidential work in an environment like the MTR - where every 3rd person seems to work for CX, KA or at HKIA. Never received a reply from them - probably didn't believe me.

Oasis statement this afternoon on closure report

2008-04-09 HKT 12:45

Local airline Oasis is to make a statement this afternoon following a report that it is about to fold because of financial problems. The Economic Times newspaper reported this morning that the fledgling airline had suffered an accumulated loss in the region of $1-billion. RTHK understands that a management meeting was held this morning, while operations at the airline's airport office continued as normal. Staff at the customer service centre said they had not received any notice from management about a possible closure. The Executive Director of the Travel Industry Council,Joseph Tung, says it is monitoring the situation.

Still up on jobsdb is an ad for a Route Revenue Analyst (posted Apr 3). A couple of the responsibilities are:

- Managing the fares, pricing, seat allocation of our passenger fights in accordance with the revenue targets and strategy; and
- Identifying/quantifying/forecasting booking demands and trends in driving decisions on marketable fares.

Horse - gate - bolted...
