Techy help please - how do I share my Netvigator (PPOE) connection

I have several pc's and a mac connected to the internet using a Windows shared internet connection. Whilst this is functional it is also a pain as the 'host' pc needs to be on permanently.

I have a Asus WL-167G wireless router attached to the PCCW line, but I have no idea how to share it properly over PPOE.

ANY ideas? How do other people share their internet without paying PCCW for extra logins?

is this what you have?

if so... that's not a wireless router. It's only a Wireless USB Stick (used if you don't already have a built in wireless card in your laptop or desktop). You still need to purchase a wireless router to share your internet connection with your other machines.

Sorry my bad, I looked at the wrong box!

I do have a wireless router its the Asus WL-530G.

I realise this question has been asked before but I wonder if it's a limitation with my router - do i need to buy a new one?

Anyone tried using the Airport Extreme?

Your model is fine. It has DHCP capabilities so your other PCs will get an IP. Once you have it setup for PPOE on your router, there should not be any extra configuration on your end to get multiple PCs accessing Internet via that single connection. I have a Buffalo WHR-G54S. I configured the PPOE for Netvigator on the router, once done. Power on my laptops and found the access point, input my security key, got an IP, and started surfing.

Thanks for your help. I'll have a crack at it this weekend.

UPDATE

Just thought I'd let people know that I followed the instructions and configured my wireless router to share the netvigator connection.

Worked like a dream. I have both wired and wireless devices working fine, my home network remained intact, everything... great!

It was very easy to do, I recommend anyone with more than one computer to spend 15-20 mins setting up their wireless router to enable shared internet.

Can't believe there isn't a simple 'how to' on the Netvigator website explaining how to do this. Instead they want to charge you an extra fee for every additional computer that connects to the internet! They don't even give you any additional bandwidth!

Great to hear you got it to work. Netvigator wouldn't mention it because it's all about the $$$

dear mates, i hv a hard time figuring out how to share the netvigator connection between two computers wirelessly. I apparently hv the login and pw setup in the PPPoE of the router (Trendnet) already. But the thing is computers can get onto internet individually only. can you please tell me how did you guys get it working; or perhaps there are some specific configuration to the PPPoE inside the routers? cheers!
