I'm on my 5th computer build but I do have to comment on that video card. It makes very little sense to me to have a quad core with such a weak video card that is a couple years old. If you're intent on saving money at least get into the nvidia 7800 or 8600. Definitely the 8600 or higher if you're using vista to utilize up and coming dx10 applications.

On a side note, where are you guys buying your hardware? I'm used to building in the US where I have everything shipped but I'm at a loss as to where to find good hardware whether it be store bought or via mail.

just coz there aren't a lot of apps now doesn't mean there won't be in the future. i'd rather have more power than i need than not enough.

ah true... if you don't have any plans of maximizing the ram to the fastest one available, then you can get the other one.

which weak card might you be referring to jt?

the 8800 GT or higher isn't a weak card. check this out for the rankings of all the vid cards based on performance.

Graphics Card Rankings #2 - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

it doesn't include the 9600 or 9800 or the ati counterparts yet though.

I was thinking of getting Kingston DDR2 800MHz ram. The board will take this and the speed is the latest right?
