Looking for small temporary appartment

Hi,

Since I and my girlfriend will be doing a student internship in HK for 4 months, I am looking for a place to stay. A friend from Hongkongnese origin told me that there is some kind of temporary housing appartments availiable in MongKok which consist of small appartments and shared kitchens. These would cost 2000 HKD/month.

The question is does anybody have experience or know these type of appartments? Any other tips on temporary\student housing around that price? I'm just trying to find a "decent" place, can be in New Territories too.

Thx!

Do you know which area you will be working in while you are in Hong Kong?

Gatts,
i think you and your gf may be better off looking for a flatshare perhaps, someone may have a furnished room available as part of a larger flat, that would be more pleasant than living in your own small flat and you are looking to share the kitchen anyways....

I've stayed in a small flat (<200 sq ft?) before and think it is quite tough to do for more than 1 month...

Do not expect any 'decency' for $2000/mth.

What are the possibilities of finding a shared flat or student room for around 2000-2400HKD a month?

The working place is in Central BTW.

Thx!

If you're in Central you really do not want to be in an area where you spend upwards of $2000/month on transportation.

Chances are once you're in Hong Kong and looked around you may be able to find something decent in the range.

However, I would recommend you look at a budget of about $4K/month for housing. If you budget for that, you then have the ability to find something decent and have option to find a flatmate.
