You'll find it cheapest on Sham Shui Po Computer Center... They also have lots of second hand stuff over there which can make it even cheaper.

Recommend Mong Kok Computer Center as 2nd option and Wan Chai as last (too expensive).

I think you can get a brand new model like this for 5,000 hkd or 3,500 for 2nd hand.

Apple Store (HongKong) - Shop Mac

Also if you feel comfortable to work at least partially in Chinese hk.auctions.yahoo.com has a lot of good second hand deals.

If I were you and the laptop wasn't only for playing, i would also consider which brand has the best service. For me that is more a decisionmaker than the price. I travel a lot and need to get it fixed everywhere.
I've been ok with IBM-Lenovo for years now. Right after the takeover from IBM things went really bad for a while at least in China. But they improved a lot recently especially in Shangai.

Lol, look at this nub. Second hand equipment in the second hand market is more expensive than most of the new machines.

You can get an Intel GMA Vista friendly laptop for HK$6,000 today, with 3-4GB system memory. Getting anything other than Intel graphics accelerators is not easy or cheap.

It's very difficult to find gaming desktops or laptops, you have Dell and that's about it. No Voodoo Envy, Gateway FX, Sager, etc. Asus and Acer are mentioned in magazines, but you wont see a Lamborghini VX in Fortress or Broadway.

If you haven't a clue you can walk into Best and the 'tards will recommend some 2 year old Lenovo or HP as excellent gaming performance.

Safe bets for a compromise are Sony or Fujitsu hardware from Broadway. Best solution is to pop over to the states and get a laptop ordered online.

The low end for laptops is ~HK$3,000 for which you would want to use XP or Ubuntu, the high end is probably ~$30,000 for the 17"+ desktop replacement laptops.

There is a pro-gamer store in Wongam, but they don't appear to actually sell any desktops or laptops yet.
