Hi All,

I am moving from Toronto to HK this June. Can anyone offer help as to which moving company to use and approximately the costs for a 3 bedroom -house worth of goods and furniture? I am offered a modest amount as relocation allowance. Any advice would be great. I am also moving with my 2 dogs.

I've no experience of moving from Canada, but are you confident that you will find a place big enough in Hong Kong to use a 3-bedroom Canadian house worth of furniture?

I don't have too much furniture in my CDN place and I managed to find a place in HK which would accomodate the stuff that I am bringing with me. Seems like furniture in HK can be a bit costly as well. If I can find a reasonable shipping quotation, the more I can justify bringing my stuff with me..

Not sure yet. I am waiting for quotes from 2-3 companies. If it's not too expensive, I'd have the pros do it. I"ve read from some of the forums here that one pet might cost around USD2500, which I think it's too much for me. I assume you are moving from Toronto too? if that's the case, great! We can share some of our experience.

You should expect to pay about US$400 (HK$3115) per animal (actually less, about half for additional animals), EXCLUSIVE of airfare, for an animal import agent to do the import paperwork, etc. Airfare can be very expensive for large dogs.

Have you had any luck w/pet relocation companies w/quotes? I was recommended to Animal Land - Pet Relocation. A Professional Pet Transportation Service, but I haven't had the chance to call them. They have an office in Atlanta. We are moving from NYC.
