| | | FUTSAL in HKG? Hi
I am interested to join. More a kind of fun FUTSAL thing with teams of 5. Booking a indoor/outdoor field seems quite hard indeed.
I also contacted DIADORA.

| | | Cheerleaders are always welcome - half the game is the after match drinking, usually...
I'm hopeful we can get a group together, it's looking good - 12+ players and we'd be set. Just that it might not be possible to have the first match for at least a month or longer, silly Hong Kong and its lack of open public spaces.

If anyone else is interested, again post here and feel free to hammer the http://w1.leisurelink.lcsd.gov.hk/index/index.jsp every morning | By experience best way to book is to go to a lscd office in any sport facility and book at the counter. Internet is nearly in possible for over demand facility.

In my experience you're half right. For those pitches that are on the lcsd online booking system I don't think it makes any difference whether you book in person or online, the pitch is either booked or it isn't and the first one to book gets it. I don't think they keep slots back for over the counter sales only. I may be wrong though.
Where booking in person definitely does give you an advantage though is that it gives you access to the many pitches that are not on the online booking system and therefore are much easier to get a booking on. For football pitches this usually means concrete or tarmac pitches in parks, playgrounds and public housing estates. This is where most of the football is played in HK. If someone has the time to go and book a pitch like this in person, and if people don't mind playing on concrete or tarmac then it is probably the easiest way to get a regular game going.
In fact, pitches like this are usually not booked at all and there is an unwritten rule that if it is not booked then any teams who turn up play goal and off. This can be fun or frustrating depending on how many teams turn up. If you turn up with a booking slip though you can kick everybody else off and play a match for the booked period.

| | | Ooh, that's interesting.
I'll check around the Causeway Bay/North Point/Quarry Bay area, if anyone also wants to check there or other areas then feel free, once we get 10+ people together we can easily start a match.
I'll also stop by the Quarry Bay sports facility this evening and see if trying to book in person proves more successful.
