Had further update, this only applies to people with HKID. Also as a non permanent resident I have been told I can only apply for a 6 month visa, however don't know how was before April.

Before the stop they would only confirm that you WOULD get a 6 months ( as non perm HKID ) BUT -- you could apply for one year and IF you had a record of this or longer before, they would consider you for the it.

I have many 2 yrs visa ( issued UK ) and the 1 yr was issued to me at Wanchai as a non perm HKID. It expired in March just before the stop !

If you are perm HKID there is an option to get 2 yrs visa.

3 yrs is not usual and ( I am informed ) reserved for home countries on Non Chinese Nationals. I.E. in the country where you where born and permanently live as a citizen. The reason it does not apply in HK would be because Chinese don't need a visa. They have the ID and don't need a passport to transit the border.

If your a perm HKID your still a foreigner to them.

5 day visa at the border..

Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to get a 5 day visa at one of the Shenzhen borders (either Shekou ferry port or Luohu). I am an Irish passport holder. Thanks a lot.

Just got my 6 month visa today.

CTS would not apply for a 1 year one for me, even though I already had a six month visa (which ran out during the ban).

Do you have the 30 days per trip restriction?

I got mine after four working days, through CTS.

I think they can process it quicker, but will charge more.

BTW CTS are expensive.

Other agents will probably be back to normal in a few weeks.

requirements

Are the documentary requirements back to normal too? I am a HK permanent resident renewing a 3-year multi entry visa. Will I need a letter of invitation?

I believe not. At least a German friend of mine got it without anything besides his permanent HKID.
