I have saw a news picture that they installed Missiles next to the olympic stadium......that was really crazy. they want to blow the stadium if there is any terrorist?

More and more policies are coming out. From july 1st onward. chemicals which considered "dangerous" are prohibited to transport around china. Some factories have to stock up larger quantity of chemicals for production and yet the "official" announcement still not yet made but "informally" nortifications were given to our logistic department through the government officials.

seriously, they want to run a international party, so they must learn to think in a international way.....

they might as well cancel the games if they worry so much.

We need to calm down a bit! Look how hard it is for Chinese nationals to travel to the EU and USA. Sometimes we have a bit of a colonial attitude (I can go where ever I want).

For L visa (for tourism) you need:
(1) A copy of Chinese hotel booking;
(2)A copy of return flight ticket booking

For F visa for business and visit (single or double entry):
(1) Visa Notification Form issued by the relevant department of Chinese government or the government-authorized company
(2)A copy of Chinese hotel booking;
(3)A copy of return flight ticket booking;

For multiple-entry business visa:
(1) Visa Notification Form issued by authorized Foreign Affairs Office or Bureau of Commerce(original)
(2) Hong Kong Permanent ID card (original and photocopy) and other possible supporting documentation
(3) Registration Certificate of your company in China may be needed.
Multiple-entry visa is issued at the discretion of the consular officers (just like it is in the USA).

I think the problem is that people are leaving out the parts that I put in bold. The Visa Notification Form is very important!

People are still gettting multiple visa entries, but you need the required documents!

I don't think it is that.

It's more the case that before it was easy and no problem to get the multi entry visa's, now its not.

Also the ban was imposed without any real notice, so there was no planning possible to mitigate the situation.

Further, as I understand it, its not possible to get a multi entry visa in HK.

I have to agree with Chimo.

Yes, it is more difficult which is a pain, but far easier than the reciprocal process.

Multi-entry visas are available in HK with the right documentation. (Saw one being collected last week when I collected my double entry)

Also single and double entry 30 day visa are available without tickets/hotel bookings if you go to the right agent and pay a premium (approx HK$ 500 + standard visa costs).

Agreed, more notification would have been helpful.

I can second that. Certain chemicals for Visco Foam pillows (that i import) aren't allowed to be transported during the period around the olympics. Result : factories have to stock up and price goes up. As a result we have to ship in july to avoid delivery and production problems. Some similar problems for leather tanning as well

US passport... CTS told me there are NO L or F visa's in HK right now period. Shenzhen entry/exit department told me there are only Z visa's available from the mainland.

So if this is in fact not the case... would be helpul to know what agents are offering L or F visa's ?

Thanks.
