A friend went to Lowu today and was rejected for the 5 day visa for Shenzhen He was holding Indian passport. Apparently they have stopped issuing border visas for Indian passports only

It's not a completely made-up rumour - I saw a sign at China Travel last week saying they weren't issuing multi-entry visas. That doesn't say anything about where the decision was made, how widely-enforced it will be, etc., but it does mean it's real.

Talked to the embassy of Sweden earlier this week and they also said that there were no more issuing of multi-entry visas so I think this is not only a rumor but unfortunately something real. However there seem to be a lot of confusion around this and not even the embassy seemed sure about the details…

Anyone know of any public statement from the Chinese government regarding this?

I heard today that APEC visa holders would also be affected. Has anyone had their one-year or three-year visa revoked at the border?

There are no more multiple entry visas available except maybe for Americans in the US.
Definitely not in Hong Kong.

I was talking about the 5 day Shenzhen visa at Luohu border for Europeans and Australians.
USA and Muslim countries can't get them. That Indians are rejected is new for me.

The situation is quite out of control.

Another problem, some courier items sent to China from HK on the 5th are not yet in China due to increased scrutinity. They mess everything up at the moment.

I'm lucky I had to renew my visa beginning of March.
Dear All.

This stupid act of banning multi entry visa's is simply un acceptable. I run a very small one man operation of providing QC inspection and Production Management from HK and into china sometime 2 or even 3 times a week. This is totally going to kill my business and my future. Not to mention the 100's of 1000's of dollars of product that cannot ship until its signed off!!!

Clearly, the beaurocrats have not thought this through at all and obviously do not appreciate the mammoth amount of disruption they re causing to their own country!!!

Its just idiotic and I would love the chance to tell Hu that as well to his face!

In the PRC?? No way!!

Have a co-worker in Canada who was rejected for a multi-entry a couple of weeks ago. He is French-Canadian, so maybe the whole French boycott thing is hurting him.
