i wouldnt say its ok...

i had to argue for a lengthy period...and wait 6 business days just to receive a 2 entry visa. not to mention the fact i had to buy 2 useless tickets to prove that i will leave China.

I tried asking to get a 6 month unlimited VISA to Shenzhen but China Travel said it is not available as of this time.. The one-way VISA costs HKD$350 while if I get it in the border it is just HKD$150, btw I'm a Philippine Passport holder..

at this time....it is a fact that HK will not issue multi-entry visas. where as we have had many reports of succesful multi-entry visas issued overseas

you might consider going home to get it, if its cost effective for you

My husband and I hold US passports. He currently has a multi-entry visa until September as he works most days in SZ. We have HK IDs, but not are not permanent residents. In April, his colleague sucessfully obtained a mult-entry visa by getting it in the US with all the required documents including a letter from the China Foreign Affairs Office. Last week, the Foreign Affairs Office sent a letter to the company saying they will no longer issue letters for visas. My husband plans to apply for a new multi in the US when we are there in September, but we are both hoping things clear up before that time. FX

One of our guys has now got his Z visa and residents card in China. Basically after the medical he had to go and submit his passport and wait 5 working days for visa and residence card. So his is done, waiting to find a clear week I can go and do mine!

whats ridiculous though is the way of thinking about this.

a normal educated person would think that if we allow multi-entry visas...it should be HK residents who deserve them, as they are a few minute transit ride from the border, and are known for frequent day trips relating to business.

people half way around the world (ie USA) need to actually plan a trip, with plane tickets and what not...so it would make *dare i say it* "more sense" for them to restrict those people to double entries.

in addition, they must know that the majority of business travelers in China are escorted by the factory owners, and therefore do not actually plan any travel accommodations, as this is seldom handled by the foreign visitor.

china.....one step forward...two steps backwards

China Travel Service is a business. They are easy to find and use so therefore they tack on a nice "service charge" in your price.

But even with the Service Charge they would require bunch of paper works (including photos), which is not required when you get it in the boarder itself (and the cost is cheaper too, HKD$150 only, and you just have to wait 10 to 15 minutes)..
