I've certainly done it for China in the past, although not recently. which countries do you know of which don't accept a visa in an old passport?

But clearly you are just focussed on your own little world...
yes even in my "own little world" I know that there are passports outside with 3 years multiple visa inside - but the majority is most probably 6 months - right ? Have a nice weekend.

This is not true for other countries, so i wonder if anyone that has done this can confirm that it works.
Normally this should be no problem for China - I had this with 2 passports already. But what is "normal" today ?

i just got an email today from emigra:

Quote:
"Ban on multiple-entry visas for short-term business visitors lifted

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that it will start reissuing multiple-entry visas for short-term business travelers immediately. Although the government had never officially announced the restriction on issuing multiple-entry F visas, for the past two months many consulates have been issuing only single or double-entry visas valid for 90 days, with a maximum stay of 30 days. Chinese consulates around the world are expected to begin complying with this announcement soon.

Employment visa applicants should not be affected. Emigra will continue to monitor the situation and alert clients as further information becomes available.

This information was provided by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

On the surface very good news. Lets just see what riders are put on it when it works its way through the system and IF it over rules the present system.

You CAN get a multi entry F visa according to the regulations and posted on the web site. HOWEVER you can't get the supporting documents to apply. Catch 22.

it was an email...so i can not "link" it here. i posted the contents of the email already. i am going to contact their office on Monday to see the details and see what they can do for me.

hopefully this is good news though, and we can all relax and get back to work. as much as i enjoy the lack of travels, i need to get back in there...or at least know that i can get back in there when needed

btw...ive never had a 6 month work visa...its always been 1 year visas for the multi-entry.
